Have A Great Time

You know that Golden Globe-winning animated feature film that's presented by Walt Disney Pictures, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and distributed by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution? The one that was released in the US on in June 2006 and later in the UK a month later?

Know it?
They call it Cars.
Heard of it?

Well…

I just watched it!!!
SO NICE!
I like.

Sigh.

Fine, I know I'm super lag when it comes to this but, come on, gimmie a break. I had too much on my plate when the movie came out back in mid-2006. I'm pretty up-to-date when it comes to movies these days. Honest! And plus, I WANTED to watch Cars when it was released. I even made plans! I did! I promise!

*blink blink*

I so don't know why I'm even bothered to explain myself to you.
Heck, this is MY blog. So what if I watch a few movies a little too late?

*huffs*

And to you guys who watched it before me, I say to you,
"Ya la, ya la. So what? Think you very clever la now?!"

Sheesh.

Okay, sorry. Enough with the rage issues.
Haha. I'm just kiddin' ya.
I'm in a good mood. Really.

*wide wide smile*

Well guys, I learnt something today. Learnt it from talking cars. Heh. If you watched this movie, you'd know where this was taken from. If you watched it and don't remember, how could you possibly not?! Go watch it again. If you haven't watched it, HAHA. You're worse than me. Thanks for making me feel better. =p

Now, read it. Read it with emotion.

Conversation Between Lightning McQueen And Sally Carrera
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LIGHTNING MCQUEEN: Whoa. Look at that. Look, they're drivin' right by; they don't even know what they're missing!

SALLY CARRERA: Well, it didn't use to be that way.

LIGHTNING MCQUEEN: Oh yeah?

SALLY CARRERA: Yeah. Forty years ago, that Interstate down there didn't exist.

LIGHTNING MCQUEEN: Really?

SALLY CARRERA: Yeah. Back then, cars came across the country a whole different way.

LIGHTNING MCQUEEN: How do you mean?

SALLY CARRERA: Well, the road didn't cut through the land like that Interstate. It moved with the land, you know? It rose, it fell, it curved. Cars didn't drive on it to make great time. They drove on it to have a great time.

---------------------

Wow.

I love that last part – "Cars didn't drive on it to make great time. They drove on it to have a great time." It may come out sounding all clichéd but it's true, you know. When it comes to life, it's not the destination… it's the journey.

I hope life's like that for me. Always. I don't want to end up cursing as I journey on towards my destination. What's the point of living this life we lead if we're just going to breeze by it without taking in all that Life has to offer? No. I want to cruise and enjoy the view as the days go by. I want to be able to smell the flowers, listen to the rustling of the leaves, and see the sunrises and sunsets set before me. I want to enjoy the pretty clouds that are scattered in the blue blue sky, watch as rainbows emerge and disappear, and see the stars twinkle at night. I want to watch the waves as they lap and lick the shore. I want put my ear to seashells and hear entire oceans roar within. I want to watch children play at the park. I want to take pictures with people I care about. I want to dance till dawn breaks. I want to laugh till my sides ache.

I want it all. Yeah, I want it all.

I miss writing such posts.

Gyeo-ool Yeon-ga

I bet that based on the title of this post, you guys are wondering:
What the heck has Tinki got to say this time?

Well, this is what that is…

Ws_desktop

Winter Sonata (겨울연가 – pronounced as "Gyeo-ool Yeon-ga" in Korean),
otherwise also known as Winter Ballad or Winter Love Story.

TADA! As promised to you-know-who. Consider it a Christmas gift that's decided to come early. And no worries, okay. Always a pleasure. Remember that it's not everyday that Tinki's this nice. Appreciate it while it lasts, okay? Savour every moment; absorb every word. =p

Ws_young
I simply love this Korean series. It's just so, so very nice! They typical see-see-cry-cry love story. I can't decide whether I like this series better or the other see-see-cry-cry Korean series entitled Autumn In My Heart (가을동화 – pronounced as "Ga-eul-dong-hwa" in Korean). They're the same, yet they're different. Hmmm. I guess Winter Sonata has a happier ending so it tends to score better on Tinki's-Korean-series-rating scale. What can I say? I'm a sucker for happy-ever-after endings. =p

And sure, the story's a little long-drawn but, come on, the scenery's nice, right? ALL the scenery. And that includes the moving, very good-looking, human ones like…

Lead Actor: Bae Yong-joon (배용준)

Lead Actress: Choi Ji-woo (최지우)

Ahem.

*coughs*

I appreciate all things beautiful.

*cough cough*

*grin*

And guess what? I found something out while I was doing my "research". What I didn't know was that Winter Sonata is the second part of the KBS TV drama series Endless Love! Hmmm. I should really go check that one out. I already know Batu Feringgi sells Winter Sonata for pennies. Heh. The beauty of a highly competitive piracy industry.

Ws_dvd_cover

Thing is, do they sell Endless Love, too?

*scratches head while wondering if Penang has Endless Love for RM4 per DVD*

p/s: Tinki feels that she should say,
"Dear readers, please support
our movie industry. Do not buy
pirated goods. It's stealing." =p

One last word of advice: Do as Tinki says. Never do as Tinki does. =p

Madea's Family Reunion

Madeas_family_reunion_dvd_1----------------
Plot Outline
----------------
While planning her family reunion, a pistol-packing grandma must contend with the other dramas on her plate, including the runaway who has been placed under her care, and her love-troubled nieces.

------------
Taglines
------------
• Learn dignity. Demand respect.
• Come as you are. Leave different.

This is a pretty good movie… I would say that its plot sometimes gets a little out of focus but even so, it carries a pack of good values for self-help and character building… The patchwork of scenes and sub stories may be a tad messy but if you look beyond the typical movie-rating review standard, you’d probably be able to catch a good thing or two… Riding high on emotions of falling in love, being with family and living through hurts, Madea’s Family Reunion is one movie I’d watch again… I had to keep pausing because there were just too many things to learn and take note off… Haha… Well, the following are some things that I learnt… You guys get a small snapshot of my notes… Lucky lucky you!

--------------------
Self Deception
--------------------

• People can pretend to be happy even when they're not.

• People are controlling because, really, they're insecure for they fear that in public, everyone can see their little secret.

• You can think all you want but it's what you feel that counts.

-----
Life
-----

• People get stuck in vicious cycles because of fear. It takes courage to make a run for greener pastures.

• You can try all your life to help somebody but it ain't gonna happen if they don't want to be helped.

• It's not about where you came from; it's about where you're going.

• You can be anything you want to be.

• Pray on and everything's gonna be alright.

• It's time to stop running and fight.

• Bad kids can be taught to live good lives.

-----------------
Forgiveness
-----------------

• Say you're sorry if you have to, and mean it while you're at it.

• Forgive with you all you have.

• Forgive. Put the past out of the way.

----------
Family
----------

• Whenever you are around family you can find love – you can sense it.

• Family reunions are about reuniting the family – bringing together the young and the old.

• Men, take your place. We need you.

• Women, take your place. You are more than just thighs and hips.

--------------------
Men & Women
--------------------

• Never date an abusive man – it don't matter if it's verbal, physical or emotional. It’s still abuse.

• There are men who appear to "have it all" but if it's only on the outside and there's nothing of substance on the inside, these men have nothing.

• A rich man with a bad heart can be nothing; a poor man with a good heart can be everything.

• There are good men out there with good intentions.

• Marry a man whose heartbeat matches yours.

• If you think your girl's special, then treat her like she is.

-------
Love
-------

• It takes courage to love.

• Love with all your heart and love hard.

• Find a love so strong that the two of you make one.

• God will give you a partner that He designed Himself. Just for you. One for you to share time and space with.

• Find a lover you can also call "Friend".

• It doesn't matter what happens in this life, as long as you have the person you love with you.

• Love past your mind and beyond your heart. Love with your soul.

• Speak from the heart and make love the solution.

• "Love is many things. It's varied. One thing it is not and can never be... is unsure."

I like this last quote… I jotted down the exact words from the script… It’s true… Love IS many things… It brings many things along with it, too… But the one thing it can never be, is unsure… The lead in the movie was about to marry an abusive man… One who had temper flares and intense two-faced mood swings… She wasn’t sure if she wanted to go through with it but when a family member gave her this advice, it finally broke through… She left him…

You see, I believe that marriage is for life… There’s not turning back one the deed’s done… You stick with the choice you make and never look back… As such, uncertainty is definitely not something you’d wanna let slide… The world sees marriage as a glorified form of saying, “I love you”… Unfortunately for some, it’s just “I love you… for now”… It should never be that way… You choose a LIFE partner, don’t you? Since when was it for choosing a 2-YEAR partner? Marriage is a choice to be made with open eyes and connected hearts… Good advice, don’t you think? =p

Anyways, think the guys will be bored with such a movie… Kind of a chick-ie drama-ish comedy… Haha… Anyhew… I liked it… =)

The Da Vinci Code

Couldn't decide if I should categorise this post under 'Film' or 'Books'... Haha... Decided on 'Film' in the end cos it was the movie that prompted this post anyways... Hey, I give credit where it's due, okay!

Photo_27In the movie, it was this line that I liked best: -

"Each breath you take is a sin. You will be hunted by angels."

Hoowah! Really "power", man! Haha... Silas said this to Sophie Neveu when he was taken along with Sir Leigh Teabing, Robert Langdon and Sophie to the Temple Church...

So, the moral of this post is - don't piss Pam off... Fair warning, guys... Don't make me use it on you... =p

p/s: Who says only those fellas from LOST use numbers? 1123581321 rocks too! *grin*

The Wedding Date

This is my favourite line in the movie: -

When he unintentionally crashed Amy's bridal shower to return Kat Ellis' purse, Nick Mercer offered a toast to the ladies saying, "Here's to the husbands who've won you, the losers who've lost you, and the lucky bastards who've yet to meet you!"

Heh... =)

The Constant Gardener

Watched The Constant Gardener a few days ago... One of 'em Cinema-Studies-worthy movies... Ugh... It's all coming back to me now... *shudder* Anyways, my favourite line is...

*jeng jeng jeng!*

"Adam was God's first draft... He got it right with Eve..."

Ooo yeah... =p

A Walk To Remember

Watched it yesterday... Watched it today... Wanna watch it again tomorrow... Sigh... I'm so the smitten kitten... *sniffle*

Langdon said...

"Jamie and I had a perfect summer together, with more love than lots of people know in a lifetime... And then she went... With her unfailing faith... It's been four years but the vision of Jamie walking towards me will stay with me forever... Jamie saved my life... She taught me everything - about life, hope, and the long journey ahead... And I'll always miss her... But our love is like the wind... I can't see it... But I can feel it..."

- A Walk To Remember

Such is love...
