I Should Stick To TickleTest

In an effort to understand myself, I do tests... This is but one of them... It tells me I am Peter Pan in a Pam body... Heh... Oh well... I can fly, I can fly, I can FLY!

Hmmm... You know what? I disagree with many things though I have to admit that some things are pretty accurate... Lucky guess on their part for those, maybe? But then again, after reading up on the specific categories, some things just don't add up... My traits don't gel... Look, it says Extrovert-ish, and describes my personality as one that prefers spending more time with others than being alone... At the same time, it says that I'm a paranoid loner... Ish... I don't like this test... I prefer the ones I do at TickleTest... This one is inconclusive, I tell you! Hmmph! Again, I say, "Hmmm..."

The test was a waste of my time...

This post was a waste of my time...

Peter Pan? Oh, puh-leeze...

Too Free

This is really for those of you who have nothing better to do with your lives... I bet it was one of your kind who came up with this anyways... Haha... Go ahead... Enjoy...

DON'T CLICK HERE!

The Da Vinci Code

Couldn't decide if I should categorise this post under 'Film' or 'Books'... Haha... Decided on 'Film' in the end cos it was the movie that prompted this post anyways... Hey, I give credit where it's due, okay!

Photo_27In the movie, it was this line that I liked best: -

"Each breath you take is a sin. You will be hunted by angels."

Hoowah! Really "power", man! Haha... Silas said this to Sophie Neveu when he was taken along with Sir Leigh Teabing, Robert Langdon and Sophie to the Temple Church...

So, the moral of this post is - don't piss Pam off... Fair warning, guys... Don't make me use it on you... =p

p/s: Who says only those fellas from LOST use numbers? 1123581321 rocks too! *grin*

MidmonsoonIt's true, you know... I always believe that no matter what you have to go through in order to be together, as long as you're able to see the love and certainty in your lover’s eyes, you'll know you're able to endure whatever comes your way... People may be against the mere idea of you being in love... You may be "two lovers from two different worlds" ala Mid Monsoon Love... Whatever it may be, being in love does not guarantee smooth sailing all the way down the aisle... But… When you know that you’re loved in return, though it may not be easy, it sure as hell will be worth it... With just a little courage, you know you'll make it together...

Come What May

462pxmoulinrougefArtists: Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor
Song Title: Come What May (OST Moulin Rouge)

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
Want to vanish inside your kiss
Everyday I love you more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear, it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change - winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time

Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you

And there's no mountain too high no river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather and stars may collide
But I love you (I love you)
Until the end of time (Until the end of time)

Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Oh, come what may, come what may
I will love you (I will love you)

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place...

Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day

People always say that two individuals in love are often oblivious to the goings-on around them... They tend to see things through rose-tinted lenses... Once in love, they start seeing things through ‘new eyes’... It’s interesting, really... Suddenly, everything takes on a new light and everything in the world increase in clarity like never before... Corny as it may sound, the sky does seem just that much clearer, the stars that much brighter, the seas that much bluer, the grass that much greener, the air that much fresher... Urm, the... Uh, the... *clears throat* Well, you catch my drift... =)

You’ll feel like you can do anything – anything at all... The song says, “There’s no mountain too high, no river too wide...” Well, this doesn’t adequately express love until the next line is sung – “Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side...” The only reason you’ll be able to say that there’s nothing you can’t face, is when you have someone by your side... You know you’re never alone...

“Storm clouds may gather and stars may collide...” Sure, tough times may lie ahead... It’s rarely smooth flowing all the way... But, it doesn’t matter... A person who really loves you will be there with you through the worst of times... Someone who will hold your hand and not bolt as soon as the first sign of trouble hits... Someone who will be right by your side to walk along difficult paths and narrow ways together with you… Someone who will go all out to support you in all you do... Someone who will love and cherish you no matter what the cost... Someone you know always has your best interests at heart... Someone who’s always got your back...

So... Does the world automatically open up and jump into “Happy-Happy-Joy-Joy” mode when you’re in love? Nope... I don’t think it does... The only difference you’ll experience is that when you’re in love, even the worst of things come gift-wrapped in perfect packages – enveloped in shiny paper, covered in glitter and topped with ribbons and bows... Why? Cause you know you won’t ever have to face anything thing alone...

Lost Love

I guess at one time or another, you'll lose someone you love... Okay, I was just being politically correct... Revised, it goes, "Sooner or later, you'll lose someone you love"... That's me being blunt... Come on... You eventually will, right? Even if you find someone who ‘completes you’ and you both fall madly in love with one another, it'll only be till death does you both part... And trust me, that time WILL come... It’ll suck big time and hurt real bad but to survive, you’ve gotta live through it one painful day at a time... That’s just the way it goes...

So what happens if you’ve lost someone you love/loved (whichever works best for you)... Do you get disorientated, unsettled and are at a complete lost? Or do you pick up the pieces of what’s left of your life and move on with what you have, giving thanks that you were once given the chance to share some good times and collect some memories – memories that will last a lifetime regardless of whether or not you like the circumstances that follow...

Ba15472_2Well, was going through some blogs earlier and found this comment, which I think is very comforting for those who have ever experienced losing a loved one in anyway... It could be an unfortunate parting of ways, a break-up, or worse, a death... Whatever it is, this applies to loss in all its ways and manners...

Hurt? Yes...

Wallow in it? Only for a little while...

Dwell on lost love? Don't...

So true... Should a special someone come into your life and become apart of you, but for some reason couldn’t stay, don’t cry too much... Instead, be glad that your paths crossed and you both had the chance to make each other happy... Even if it was only for a little while... If the person is yours, if it really is meant to be, in time, conditions will bring you back together again... And hopefully, second time round, they’re yours for keeps... If they don’t come back, then be glad you didn’t end up with someone you weren’t meant to have in the first place...

You and Me - Serendipity

Artist: Lifehouse
Song Title: You and Me

What day is it
And in what month
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time

Cause it's you and me and all of the people
Nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you

All of the things that I want to say
Just aren't coming out right
I'm tripping on words, you got my head spinning
I don't know where to go from here

Cause it's you and me and all of the people
With nothing to do, nothing to prove
And it's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off you

Something about you now
I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right

Cause it's you and me and all of the people
With nothing to do, nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of

You and me and all of the people
With nothing to do nothin to prove and
It's you and me and all of the people and
I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you

What day is it
And in what month
This clock never seemed so alive

I know, I know... I've blogged this song before... But but but... While driving today, I heard this familiar tune play over the radio… Sang along to it and realized that it’s taken on new meaning... I guess that when we're at different points in our lives, we tend to see things differently... Different things carry different weight… What was once important, isn’t anymore; while what was seemingly unimportant now stares you blankly in the face waiting for you to react… This is the case with “You and Me”…

The key lines for me this time are: -

“I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you”

And: -

“Something about you now
I can't quite figure out
Everything she does is beautiful
Everything she does is right”

I don’t get people who ask, “Honey, why do you love me?” If he or she had a ‘why’ to answer you, you better keep your eyes open… Cause, when people love with reason, and things change or situations fail to stay the same over time, these people stand the risk of falling out of love… Bah, forget the falling out of love part… They never were truly in love in the first place… Reason does not stand the test of time or of stormy weather… Reason makes love the effect of a fondness towards something else that one holds greater value to…

You see, when one truly loves another, one loves without reason… You just don’t know why you feel the way you do… You don’t understand and start to wonder why you do the things you do for them… No wait… I was wrong… If anything, you’ll know you’re in love when you STOP wondering… There’s nothing to figure out, really… There’s no cryptic code to decipher (The Da Vinci Code is getting to me)… There’s no reason behind the emotion, sentiment or passion… No explanation for the exhilaration, enthusiasm and excitement that rises within you when the thought of your loved one crosses your mind… It’s cannot be justified or rationalized… It’s, more often than not, illogical, unfounded and seemingly senseless…

The question of the day: -

Why do you love the one you love?

And here’s to the answer that follows: -

You just do…

Breaking Through

B000bntm3201_sclzzzzzzz__1Artist Mary J. Blige never had her shot at a perfect home... Her father left when she was younger and left her mother to care for his two daughters single-handedly... Her heartbreaking family life left deep scars that affected her approach to life in days to come... A victim of child sexual assault and a broken home, she soon became a high school dropout, a drunkard and a druggie (marijuana and cocaine addiction)... Sure, fame was reaching out to her and her to fame... But on the inside, she still had yet to deal with the mountain of pain, hurt and strife that was buried, concealed and suppressed deep within her heart...

Well, the best part is that everybody gets a second chance at life... Everybody... Mary cleaned up her act, got herself together and bravely bounded back with her latest album, very aptly titled "The Breakthrough"... She finally found it in herself to deal with all the crap that she kept buried inside all this while... I believe that if a person with her story can let her past go, so can the rest of us... All we need is a little love, a little support, a little courage and a little time to reflect...

During an exclusive interview with Oprah on The Oprah Winfrey Show, on the 1st of February 2006, Mary was reminded of an interview she had with a magazine earlier in the year – an interview where she mentioned her sentiments about her mother... I really like it and to me, it stands shoulder to shoulder with those said by great writers and philosophers – people like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi... Take a look...

"I blame her for nothing, but I forgive her for everything..." ~ Mary J. Blige

Beautiful...

Liu Lian Additions

Written with reference to a previous post entitled: "Cap Dou Liu Lian"...

You know what? After going through my "Cap Dou Liu Lian" post, I've realised that it's not about wanting to AVOID being pricked by durian skins that makes eating a durian NOT worth it's while... The fact of the matter is, you just haven't found durians worth the time, nor the effort... When push comes to shove, it all boils down to having the durian you wanna eat being worth the pain of being pricked... Revelation indeed...

"Pam" Defined

Pict1258_1

Was given this keychain a few days back in a pale orange envelope... It said: -

"PAM - A short form of Pamela from Greek meaning 'honey'.
...A persuasive lady.
...She has a strong drive to succeed.
...Resourceful and competent in her work.
...She is admired by her peers.
...A bundle of energy."

Interesting indeed... But... The England very tak boleh la... I'll just let the "C-person" in me do some minor editing and rephrasing... A few changes only! I promise! *grin*

Ahem... What the keychain means to say is: -

"PAM - A short form derived from the Greek name Pamela, meaning 'honey'. She is a persuasive lady with a strong drive to succeed. Resourceful and competent in her work, she is admired by her peers. She is a bundle of energy."

Anal, aren't I? I'd rather continuity than fragments... =p Ish... I also cannot tahan myself...

Cap Dou Liu Lian

Durian_9Cap Dou Durian! Haha... Was talking on Skype yesterday night and heard the saying for the first time, in CANTONESE! Haha... That was a good laugh... I've only used the phrase in English so far but I think the Cantonese version is a whole lot funnier... I should make a swap and move over... Haha... In Manglish, it’s actually “Durian Drop Right Smack in the Middle of Your Lap”...

It’s usage? Well, you can put it to use when something amazing happens to you, and in a freak coincidence, what you wanted (or sometimes needed but didn’t even know you wanted) falls straight into your… well, your lap… And trust me, if you’ve walked through a durian orchard, you’ll know how rarely that chance comes by... So, when it does happen to you, turn your eyes towards the skies because it’s definitely something to be thankful for…

When I was younger, I ate just about any durian that was put on my plate... Fortunately for me, I happened to like those types of durians - the sweet ones... A bit lacking in meat (except for a rare few), but sweet nonetheless... But as time flew by… Sigh… I grew up to realise that there was a whole world of durians out there! Durians my innocent and naive mind hadn’t expected or known of… Bitter ones, sweet ones, small ones, big ones, wormy ones, thick meat but small seed ones, thin meat but big seed ones - you name it, they've got it... The worst part was that it was difficult telling one from the other...

I was and still am not a durian-picking-pro... Don’t know if I ever will be… I got pricked by those hard spikes more times than I'd like and finally, just ended up deciding to forgo having the fruit altogether... I used to tell myself, “Heck, often time, the durians we like to eat, the ones that are especially sweet to the taste, are those with worms in 'em anyways!” The lousy part is that we often take a big bite before we see those squirmy creatures, so what’s the point?

Well, I used to think that durians were not worth my time... Too much work, I thought... Sure the meat's good... Most of the time... Smells like hell, tastes like heaven - or so they say... Well, I always thought that those sharp ends that pierce me would not be worth the effort... Ever... That was till I found my durian... Or rather, the durian found me! Kinda… It dropped right into my lap... I wasn't looking… But then again, it didn't know where it was gonna land either... *grin* So... I've got my durian – a good one, too! Have you found yours?

The Wedding Date

This is my favourite line in the movie: -

When he unintentionally crashed Amy's bridal shower to return Kat Ellis' purse, Nick Mercer offered a toast to the ladies saying, "Here's to the husbands who've won you, the losers who've lost you, and the lucky bastards who've yet to meet you!"

Heh... =)

Home

Artist: Michael Buble
Song Title: Home

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmm...

May be surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
Just wanna go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

And I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
They're each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well, I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I gotta go home

Let me go home
I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not come along with me
This was not your dream
But you always believed in me

Another winter day has come
And gone away
In even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And I’m surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel alone
Let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home

Let me go home
It'll all be alright
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

It’s been quite awhile since I last blogged… Had been busy with things… Guess it takes a hard hit from the flu bug to give me time to relax and take some timeout from life and its many activities…

Anyways, was watching The Wedding Date... I made it a point to get the movie - a sweet romantic love comedy that I watched on the way to Perth last year... I think I'm gonna get the soundtrack as well... Loads of nice songs! This song was in the soundtrack, too... Good song... Lousy singer (in terms of personality) though... But nevertheless, it's a good song... Hate the singer, love the song... =) I am so repeating myself...

I remember when I first got addicted to Home... Back in the day when I listened to it day and night... Sigh... Seems like ages ago... I still like it... It holds a special place in my heart... Oh well, memories, memories... People change... Time rolls by... But even so, some things remain...
